Elmer Bernstein – The Deep End of the Ocean – CD
(Milan Records / BMG) It seems fitting that I get to review a movie with Treat Williams in it for the Sell-out issue. He was the lovable lead hippie in the movie “Hair”. Ever since then I have seen him only play “mature adult” or “macho man” characters. Whatever Mite. This movie is about how a family holds up when they have a child abducted. So the music in this soundtrack has a childlike feel about it. Even before I read what the film was about I could tell the basic feel of the movie just by listening to the soundtrack, which is what a great soundtrack should do. Lots of harps, bells, violin and piano. I say very nice.
