(Weedtone Records) Go Robot Go is a band from Columbus, Ohio and they were formerly known as Shinola. In Mutant Renegade Zine #11, I reviewed Shinola’s CD and I compared their sound to oatmeal and the color beige. Go Robot Go is a refreshing departure from Shinola. The CD is filled with a fun, poppy, quirky, canvas of dance numbers. The vocals on The Queen of the Roller Rink remind me of Jeff Lynne’s voice on Telephone Line by E.L.O. Shy (ee yii) has a sound reminiscent to Frankie Howerd singing Mean Mr. Mustard on the Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band soundtrack. Check this one out.
