Messerly & Ewing - Great singer / songwriter duo who sometimes play out as a full band, rom Cincinnati, OH. Their music falls in the realm of folk, rock and alternative country with clever lyrics and an extremely catchy sound.
Pale Beneath The Blue - Great duo from Dayton, OH consisting of Rhonda on vocals / guitar / keyboard and Patrice on cello. Rhonda was the driving force behind the group Rhe. This new group is a bit lighter, but the cello adds a very interesting dimension.
Shrug - Great four piece from Dayton, OH who have a traditional rock sound that is a bit on the dark side and never cheesy, but always full of lyrical twists and a sound to get you on your feet.
FUN
Dilbert's Ultimate House - A house designed for a geek by geeks. It's pretty cool, but what do I know...I'm a geek
Ethical Philosophy Selector - Just answer twelve multiple choice questions and see which famous philosophers share your outlook on life, from Aquinas to Nietzsche.
Fark - Fun, actual news articles drenched with sarcasm. They also have daily Photoshop contests and tons of links.

Hubble Photos - Official Hubble site featuring photos and news relating to space.
Phil Johnson's Bookmarks - This is fun for anybody who gets a kick out of reading Chick Tracts. With sections like "Really, Really Bad Theology, you know it has to be good.
New Grounds - Fun site full of flash games, cartoons, movie clips and all types of other humor. Some areas are for those over 18 so watch before you click.
The Onion - For many years they have been inventing the most intriguing headlines and stories I've ever read. Much more interesting than the "traditional" media outlets.
So You Wanna Fake Being An Indie Rock Expert - This a great site that taught me everything I know. After you learn this important skill, peruse the whole site and learn many other neat-o things.
Wil Wheaton - Yes, little Wesley Crusher from ST:TNG is all grown up and very cool. He has a great website, with rants, links and all types of other goodness.
ZINES
Zine Meet-Up Group - This could be a very cool site if more people used it. It basically gets you in touch with other zinesters in your area so you can get together. Dayton actually has three zinesters listed, too bad Mite and Grog are two of them. I don't know if this is really still alive. I looked at their board and saw the last post from anywhere was over three months old.

Big Beef Records - One of Dayton's oldest and best labels. Stop by and see the items that get moo'd about all the time.
Dayton Theatre Guild - Local, independent theatre in Dayton. Well done and always entertaining.
Wright Field - A huge mixed bag of interesting items and information. Notes about local bands, a BBS, projects and jobs that Wright Field has taken on and so much more.

Canal Street Tavern - Dayton, OH All Types of bands from Folk and Bluegrass to Punk and Rap. Features national and local acts six days a week.

All Music Guide - Great site that has the most complete database on music. Search by band, song, genre, country or any other keyword. Includes all major artists and an abundance of Indy acts with tons of background information.
CD Baby - Online music store carrying a huge inventory of independent artists. This is one of the places you need to visit if you are releasing a CD or if you love hearing new music.
ClueLass - Great site with everything you've ever wanted to know or discuss about mystery novels. If you love this genre then you need to dive into this site and its wealth of knowledge.
Internet Movie Database - Great site which allows you to access information regarding just about every movie, actor or other related information. It's very easy to get lost in all the links and abundance of information.
Map Collection of the US - This is an online collection of the Library of Congress maps. Perfect for any map geek. Yes, it's true, I was a cartographer/mapping technician for several years.
Metacritic - Movie review site which compiles the ratings of professional reviewers. This link takes you to the 200 lowest rated films on the site. Once you click on a specific movie it's pretty similar to how IMdB (Internet Movie DataBase) is set up..
MIT OpenCourseWare - Open Publication of MIT course materials. Great for any geek.

Astronomy Picture of the Day - Site features a new astronomy picture every day, hence the name, with a great explanation.
Federation Star Base 01 - A site primarily about Star Trek for Star Trek geeks.
